ISDN 10/20/30 – Telstra

ISDN 10/20/30 is Telstra’s digital service designed to work with expanding businesses.

The system provides a minimum of 10 phone lines, which can be augmented to satisfy the demands of your organisation as it grows. ISDN 10/20/30 is a scalable package, providing 10, 20 or 30 lines, as well as the ability to add more lines at any time.

The flexible ISDN 10/20/30 system is suitable for a variety of business types, and in particular for communications businesses, such as call centres and Internet service providers, as well as for large companies that need multiple incoming and outgoing extensions.

ISDN 10/20/30 is generally delivered via optic fibre and is housed within your office in a floor mounted data cabinet.

ISDN 10/20/30 operates in the same way as direct indial, in that you are given a block of 100 number that sits within the Telstra exchange.

In this example, the number range allocated in the Telstra Exchange is “3388 9900” to “3388 9999”, and your business would own this group of numbers.

You can select any number within this range to be your business’ prime (or main) advertised number. For example, you could select “3388 9999” as your main number and then assign other numbers within the number range as extensions or group of extensions. So “3388 9955” could be assigned as a sales line going directly to your Sales Department, while other numbers could be assigned to your Service Department, your fax machine and even to marketing campaigns you are running through media advertising.

Benefits of direct indial:

  • Each staff member can be allocated a direct line/extension number (if required).
  • Any one of the 100 numbers, or individual extension numbers, can be shown on outgoing calls.
  • When any member of a particular department (eg “sales”) dials out, a specific “sales” number can be shown on those outgoing calls.
  • Specific incoming number/s can be designated for advertising/marketing and so on, allowing you to track how many calls are received on those numbers so you know which marketing campaigns are working for you.
  • The system is able to point 1300/1800 numbers to a designated indial number, which will display a name (ie. “Yellow Pages”). This can help eliminate misuse.
  • Your Indial range is able to be relocated to different exchanges (conditions apply), giving your business the ability to retain its existing phone numbers and lessen the costs of re-advertising new business numbers.
  • Old phone numbers can be diverted for 12 to 18 months for $20 per month (no diversion charges apply) and sent to an indial number with a recorded message advising of the new number, then the call can be transferred to reception or other extensions.
